This is not a comment to be posted here, it isn't regarding the current post. However, I am asking for a 2 day truce for our town to grieve the loss of one of our own. Stephanie and Mark West have contributed a lot to the town and were active members in various areas, especially where their children were concerned. All I ask is that we take a break for Stephanie's visitation at Morrison's tomorrow night from 6-9 and her funeral Friday at 2pm at the chapel burial following at Harris Chapel. This is a chance for a bit of unity, which is what we are striving to do. Be the bigger person and show those idiots who your true character by respecting Stephanie's family. THANK YOU!!!
The council needs to look at why the senior citizens moved out of the old building before moving the Town Hall in there. I really don't think that building is big enough for the town Hall. Can the community not come together and build one on an empty lot or something? O yah we can't, due to the fact that Cherokee does not have enough money for that. Our tax dollars are going to Tuscumbia, Muscle Shoals and Florence due to the fact everything is closing down in Cherokee.
While using the library recently, I found myself being glared at by the former mayor! What did I do to anger her? Oh yes I was trying to use the TOWN PUBLIC library for some genuine historical research. Silly me..libraries are for everyone in town; and never more so than when the economy is as bad as it is now. I hate it because the new librarian is an intelligent, caring young lady who is truly enthusiastic about reading!
I think you need to get a facebook page so EVERYONE in Cherokeecan know whats going on...Its kind of EMBRASSING now to say where Im from bc of all the bad press!

ReplyDeleteAll is quite and nothing to report evidently. At least times have calmed down and the Mignonitts have chilled out. Maybe we will be ok.
