BREAKING NEWS
MELINDA MALONE THE CITY CLERK TURNED IN A REQUEST TO TAKE VACATION OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS. THAT REQUEST WAS DENIED BY MAYOR CHUCK LANSDELL. MELINDA MALONE WAS TOLD THAT SHE DID NOT GIVE A PROPER NOTICE.
Any one with a brain knows you can not turn in a notice 5 hours before you want off. every one has known about cheer camp for about 4 months. it was held at the same date last year.
She has been knowing for months when the cheer camp was. She thinks she has the authority to make her own decisions. It's a crying shame, she feels as if she were above the rules. What a joke!!!!!!
do the police officers have to follow the same guidelines? I know of one that didnot request leave until the day he was wanting the leave. hmmmm sounds like both sides have issues.
I do not agree with the way the city council is conducting its business, but this blog is making the town of Cherokee look even worse than it already is. These people have families just like the rest of us. We should not take pleasure in the wrongs that people have done. We should pray for these people and our town. This blog is not exhibiting a very Christian attitude. We want to be able to take pride in our town. This blog contents is not the way to go about it. We wonder why our children act the way they do? Just look in a mirror or listen to you and your friends talk in front of them. Please stop this type of hurt to our town.
Amen, What they do in their personal lives is really non of our business. However, running the town to the ground is. The Mayor,City Clerk, Part-time City Clerk and all counsel members need to focus on town business during business ours and reframe from illegal activity and all non-job related things should be done on their own time.
Maybe Melinda needs to get approval from the counsel for the part-time clerk to take her place while she goes to ballgames and such. And she would need to clock out. The City Hall needs to have regular business hours and lunch hours need to be a set time. That is how most City Halls are run. Call any City Hall in the area and check for yourself.
Why don't the Mayor,Clerks and Counsel Members attend a town Hall meeting in some of the other towns in the area and see how they are done there. Maybe some requirements need to be in place for our Mayor, Clerks and Counsel Members to educate themselves on how to run a town.
There is a certified municipal officers program. These classes teach them how to run the towns government. It teaches them the law and responsibilities that they need. I know of 2 in the past that got certified. Mr. William "SMITTY" Smith and Mayor Lansdell. The council that is there now REFUSE to take these courses.
WITH EDUCATION COMES KNOWLEDGE WITH KNOWLEDGE COMES WISDOM WITH WISDOM COMES PEACE.
Call your council member and ask them WHY they do not take the opportunity to educate themselves so that they can better govern our town.
The CERTIFICATION PROGRAM needs to be required of all counsel members. If the counsel members do not attend then they should let the person that ran against them for that office take their place or another election should held immediately. Maybe all citizens of Cherokee need to demand this program be voted in as a requirement. Where are these classes and can anyone attend? Where do we find information on this program? Please post the information.
