THE CHEROKEE CITY COUNCIL HAS CALLED A SPECIAL CALL MEETING FOR JULY 14 WEDNESDAY @ 9AM.
THE COUNCIL WILL DISCUSS THE PART TIME CITY CLERK POSITION. THE RESIGNATION OF CITY JUDGE CHAD COKER. THE POSSIBLE FIRING OF CITY ATTORNEY BECKY NARMORE AND WHO HAS THE AUTHORITY TO SIGN THE CITIES CHECKS.
this is not right. they should hold the meeting at night. what are they trying to hide from the people?
ReplyDeleteThis is what they always do. They do it in the morning so that no one can attend, because most people work. The council members that are in office now are not working for the people, just their own personal gain and the so called "power" they think they have.

Lord, please help this town. Two years is a long time for the citizens of Cherokee to have put up with the councils childish and immature behavior. They couldn't even vote to pay the bills or to even set normal everyday business hours. In a perfect world, I guess that any business can open and close the doors when they want to. But in the real world, it just doesn't work that way. There should be a certain education level that someone has to have to be a public official.
I hope they don't fire Becky N.

I hope they don't fire Beck Narmore either, and even though she put several of them in their place (especially JO Franks and Patricia Mason), they do not listen to her. She knows the Code of Alabama Law. Not the law that they seem to go by, which is what they seem to think that because they say it, it is the law!
ReplyDeleteI know that the best decisions aren't being made in town hall, but I am sure that Cherokee is not the only town or city that has problems among their council and town leaders. The only thing that happens is that most other towns, cities, and citizens (including citizens hoping to achieve a council position) have enough tenacity and morals not to plaster crap like this all over the internet and the newspapers.
ReplyDeleteIf I was someone new moving into the area, and was researching, there is absolutely no way that I would dare even drive through Cherokee. People, everyone needs to wake up and realize that everything that you all are stirring and plastering all over the internet and news media is not going to help our town grow. It is only going to hinder it. I have read so many times that no one on the council is for the citizens, they are only there for themselves...well you know what...it seems that all of you who find the time and need to spread all of this non-sense is not here for the town either. There is no way you can be. All of this negative publicity is not going to bring people or growth to our town, it is only going to push it further away...

Obviously, the above comment is from someone on the council who is scared of getting their hands caught in the cookie jar!!! But they got one thing right---no one with any sense would want to move into this town if they knew what was going going on with our "SO-CALLED" leaders!! And the way this town is being run. I think it"s time someone done something about it and let the people know whats going on. I praise this site for the citizens know the truth. Someone needs to come forward and tell all. Expose the council and the Melinda for what they are and what they are doing. Common sense will tell you if she don't want her desk to be on camera---then she must have something to hide. Maybe the news media is not getting enough info cause the council is still doing the same crap and putting more Migon Puppets in city hall and council seats. That way they can continue to do as they please and slowly drain cherokee and pull it into their control. GOD HELP US ALL!!!! Expose them all! Go over them and get outside help from a higher source. Lets ban together and get then out of there!! Before it's to late!! All this publicity will not hirt the town---it may help. It may open the eyes of higher ups. And Cherokee can never get better with the people who are in there now---they won't let it. They block everyhting good that could help this town and get rid of the good people when they won't go along their plans. All we have in there now is crooks, theives,drug dealers,alcoholics,gamblers and a city clerk who hides it all for them. and hides herself to---so whats she up to? So with "LEADERS" like this how can we get better?And by the way---why would anyone in cherokee want to be on a council like this? They would get booted out the door anyway if they disagreed with the MIGNON PUPPETS!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I AM NOT ONE OF MIGNON "PUPPETS"!! I can't stand her any more than any of you can. I am a concerned citized who is tired of all of the negative publicity....I love my town. I have lived here all my life, and am raising my family here, and want to continue to do so. However, it has become quiet embarrassing at the way the entire town council is behaving. I agree that we as citizens of Cherokee should ban together and get help from a higher power. At this point I am almost sure that we could benefit more from the county absorbing us.
ReplyDeleteI agree totally!!! This town has become the laughing stock of Colbert County. The coumcil is running it in the ground and someonen needs to do something. People are moving out at an alarming rate and no one wants to move in. So what is the council going to do when they have no funds to take,no court system(because the judge resigned and they fired Becky)and nothing left to run? They are killing this town. I know people in the court system up-town and this place is a laughing stock. The council is a joke. What do they plan to do now---hire a judge and city prosecuter who also goes along with their illegal activities? Time will tell.

We can only pray at this point. We have to pray that God will wrap his arms around our town and protect it from these people!
Maybe being the laughing stock of Alabama and getting out side the city limits of Cherokee is where this needs to be at this time. It is certain the citizens can not do anything. Maybe the governor can when it gets to him.
