WHO IS HIRED

DURING THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON JULY 28, MIKE MALONE MADE A MOTION TO ABOLISH ANY OPEN PART TIME AS NEEDED JOB POSITIONS. THE MAYOR HIRED MARSHA ALLEN ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO BECAUSE CITY CLERK MELINDA MALONE WAS TAKING OFF WORK A LOT AND THE CITY HALL WAS NOT OPEN FOR BUSINESS. MARSHA ALLEN HAS BEEN THE CITY CLERK BEFORE, KNOWS ALL OF THE STATE LAWS, PROPER PROCEDURES, AND ALLEN IS BONDED. TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE MONEY A PERSON HAS TO BE BONDED.

DURING THE JULY 14 CITY COUNCIL MEETING THE COUNCIL DECIDED NOT TO PAY MARSHA ALLEN FOR THE WORK THAT SHE HAD PERFORMED, WHICH IS AGAINST STATE AND FEDERAL LAW. MAYOR CHUCK LANSDELL AND COUNCILWOMEN LAMBERT PAID MARSHA ALLEN AGAINST THE WILL OF THE COUNCIL. BOTH WERE TRYING TO AVOID A LAW SUIT AND PROTECT THE CITY FROM VIOLATING STATE AND FEDERAL LAW.

DURING THEM SAME MEETING COUNCILMAN STEVE GLOVER MADE A MOTION TO HIRE HIS MOTHER IN LAW BECKY BERRYMAN WADKINS. AFTER BEING TOLD BY THE MAYOR AND CITY ATTORNEY THAT WAS AN ETHICS VIOLATION, COUNCILMAN MIKE MALONE MADE A MOTION TO HIRE BECKY WADKINS AND MALONE, FRANKS, MASON, GLOVER VOTED ON AND PASSED THE MOTION. BECKY BERRYMAN WADKINS WAS HIRED AS A PART TIME CITY CLERK.

BACK TO THE JULY 28 MEETING; MALONE MADE A MOTION TO ABOLISH ANY OPEN PART TIME AS NEEDED JOB POSITIONS. THERE ARE NO OPEN PART TIME JOB POSITIONS OR ARE THEY. DID THE COUNCIL REALIZE THE HIRING OF BECKY BERRYMAN WADKINS WAS ILLEGAL. DID SOMEONE FIRE HER? DID SHE QUIT? FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON MIKE MALONE BELIEVES THERE IS AN OPENING. SO THE POST THIS MORNING ABOUT HIRING OF SOME SENIORS TO FILL IN MAKES SENSE. WE NEED A QUALIFIED PART TIME CITY CLERK, ONE THAT CAN HANDLE THE MONEY AND PERFORM THE JOB ACCORDING TO STATE LAW. IF A PERSON TRAVELED FROM ANOTHER TOWN TO PAY A TRAFFIC TICKET THE UNQUALIFIED PERSON WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE THE MONEY AND DO ANYTHING.

WAKE UP CITY COUNCIL AND DO THE RIGHT THING FOR ONCE.

  1. If I took off work to come to City Hall to pay a ticket during business hours and the City Hall was closed or the person at the desk was not qualified to take care of business then the ticket should be dismissed and it should notify officials.
    Councilmembers run the business right.
