WHERE IS THE 2009 AUDIT?

MAYOR LANSDELL HIRED MARSHA ALLEN AS THE PART TIME CITY CLERK TO FILL IN WHEN MELINDA MALONE TAKES OFF AND TO HELP WITH GRANT PAPERWORK. MELINDA MALONE IS SO BUSY SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE TIME TO HELP THE MAYOR WORK ON THE PAPERWORK.

MARSHA ALLEN WAS ABLE TO ALMOST COMPLETE THE SEWER GRANT PAPERWORK IN ABOUT A ONE WEEK WORKING PART TIME. THE MAYOR HAS BEEN ASKING MALONE FOR OVER A YEAR TO COMPLETE THE PAPERWORK.

WE ARE SEVEN MONTHS INTO THE 2010 CALENDER. THE 2009 CITY AUDIT WAS SCHEDULED TO START LAST WEEK BUT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. WHY?

THE SEWER GRANT CAN NOT BE COMPLETED TILL THE AUDIT IS DONE. THE GRANT WILL BRING OVER A MILLION DOLLARS TO THE TOWN TO REBUILD THE BROKEN DOWN SEWER SYSTEM.

A REBUILT SEWER SYSTEM COULD ATTRACT NEW BUSINESS TO THE TOWN. THE CITY COUNCIL NEEDS TO MOVE FAST AND HAVE THE 2009 AUDIT COMPLETED. WE COULD MISS OUT ON THE GRANT IF THE GRANT PAPERWORK IS NOT TURNED IN SOON.

THE CHEROKEE WATER BOARD HAS ALREADY FINISHED THEIR 2009 AUDIT AND IT IS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.

  1. The council will not support the completion of the grant because 1) it is good for the town and 2) Chuck had something to do with it!!! However, if Mignon tells them it's OK to support it they'll trip all over themselves rushing to cast votes in favor of grant!!!

  2. Maybe Melinda couldn't get to the paperwork for so long cause the required documents were stuck in Rehab Solutions bathroom closet in Tupelo, MS along with unreconciled bank statements and notice of tax liens from the State of Mississippi. Someone might want to check the bathroom closets at Town Hall!!!!

  4. Most business can not run off a septic tank. They require a sewer system. That is why every so often you will see a newspaper article about a town trying to built a sewer system or expanding it. Look at the Barton site. They made road and sewer improvements.

  5. When you read a newspaper from a town and read that there are multiple claims filed against a town for sewer backing up in there homes or business, would you want to build or renovate a building for a new business? I wouldn't. Not to say that this grant alone would bring in more business, but it is a step in the right direction. The problem with this town is that everytime the mayor and ALL counicl takes one step forward, the other 4 on the council takes 3 steps back. Do your job and represent your district and leave your personal issues at home. No one is perfect, but you can atleast try. EVERYONE has issues. It is what you choose to do about it, is what makes the difference. Learn from any mistakes that have been made and move on.
